UAE National Day Gifts for Kids 2026: Bulk Tees, Caps and Giveaways
Buying National Day gifts for a whole school or nursery? What to order by age group, how to brand it, the UAE flag rules to follow, and when to place your last order.
For UAE National Day 2026 (Eid Al Etihad, Wednesday 2 December, the 55th), the most practical bulk gifts for children are printed cotton T-shirts in the flag colours, adjustable youth caps and small wearable extras such as bandanas or tote bags, ordered by age group and size. Most school and nursery celebrations happen on the last school day before the holiday, not on 2 December itself. That means artwork and size lists need to be signed off by mid-November.
This guide covers what to buy for each age group, which fabrics and branding methods work for children's garments, the UAE flag rules your design must respect, and a last-order checklist that works backwards from your celebration day.
Key dates for Eid Al Etihad 2026
- The day itself: Wednesday 2 December 2026, the UAE's 55th Eid Al Etihad.
- Public holiday: news reports have pointed to a 2–3 December holiday. The official announcement usually comes only a few weeks beforehand, so check your school calendar and the official notice before you fix a delivery date.
- This year's theme: the 55th celebration falls in the UAE's Year of Family. The official visual identity presents the country as a "family of families" and draws on Emirati homes, traditions and the idea of a family photo album. That gives schools a ready-made design idea: family, generations and togetherness, not only flags and falcons.
- Your real deadline: if the holiday starts on Wednesday 2 December, most schools will hold their celebration on Monday 30 November or Tuesday 1 December. Some will hold it the week before. Your garments need to arrive several days before that, because they still have to be sorted by class and sent home.
What to give: bulk options compared
| Item | Best age range | Usual branding | Why it works | Watch-outs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cotton T-shirt | All ages | Screen print or DTF | Children wear it on the day, and it looks good in class photos | You need a full size run, which takes planning |
| Performance (polyester) tee | 6+ for sports or outdoor activities | DTF or sublimation | Light and quick-drying for active play | Feels less soft than cotton, and some prints need low-heat methods |
| Youth cap | 4+ | Embroidery or print | Gives sun protection at outdoor assemblies | Not suitable for babies and toddlers, and adult caps are too big |
| Bandana or neck scarf | 3+ | Cheap and fits every child | Tie it loosely, and skip it for under-3s | |
| Tote or drawstring bag | All ages (bag goes to parents for nursery) | Screen print or DTF | Useful afterwards, and can hold other giveaways | Keep cords away from very young children |
| Hoodie | 10+ for evening events | Print or embroidery | Kept and worn long after the day | Costs more and is too warm for daytime play in most UAE schools |
For most schools a T-shirt alone, or a T-shirt plus a cap, is the best balance of cost, usefulness and impact. Small paper and plastic giveaways such as stickers, flags and colouring sets are easy to buy off the shelf in small packs. A custom garment is what makes a school's celebration look coordinated.
What to choose for each age group
Nurseries (babies to about 3 years)
- Garment: soft cotton T-shirts or bodysuit-style tops in 100% cotton. Avoid stiff, heavy fabrics.
- No small parts: skip buttons, pins, badges, sequins and anything glued on. Young children put everything in their mouths.
- No cords: don't use hoods with drawstrings or neck ties at this age.
- Print placement: keep prints off the neckline and use a soft-feel print. Ask for printed neck labels or easily removed labels so nothing scratches.
- Caps: generally skip them. Babies and toddlers pull them off, and adult or youth caps won't fit.
KG and Foundation Stage (about 3–6 years)
- A cotton T-shirt is the core item. A youth cap is optional for outdoor events.
- Names or class names on the back can be added with DTF or heat transfer. Teachers can then tell 25 identical shirts apart.
- Choose crew necks with enough stretch to go over a child's head easily, because children this age often dress themselves.
Primary (about 6–11 years)
- T-shirt plus cap or bandana. You can use house colours (red, green, white or black, all from the flag) to split year groups for sports activities.
- Performance tees make sense if the day includes races, dance or outdoor games.
Secondary (11+)
- Older students have opinions about fit. An oversized or slightly heavier tee, or a black or white tee with a clean design, gets worn again. A heavily literal design usually won't be.
- Many secondary students fit adult XS to M, so plan a mixed run of kids' and adult sizes.
Fabric, GSM and branding for children's garments
Fabric
- Weight: 150–180 GSM cotton suits children's tees in the UAE. It's soft and breathable, and opaque enough for white and light colours. Heavier 200+ GSM tees are better kept for older students. Our custom T-shirts page covers the weights and fits available.
- Composition: 100% combed or ring-spun cotton feels softest. Poly-cotton blends shrink less and hold colour better after many washes. Full polyester is for active wear.
- Colour: white is the safest base for flag-colour designs and shows every colour accurately. Strong reds and greens look great but may lose a little dye in the first wash. Add a "wash separately first time" note for parents.
Branding methods
| Method | When it fits a kids' order | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Screen printing | One design, 1–4 colours, larger quantities (whole school) | Setup per colour, so it's less economical for small runs or full-colour artwork |
| DTF transfer | Full-colour designs, smaller batches, individual names | Slightly heavier feel on large print areas, so keep designs sensibly sized |
| Embroidery | Caps and older students' hoodies or polos | Too stiff and scratchy for small children's T-shirt chests |
| Sublimation | Polyester performance tees with all-over designs | Works only on light-coloured polyester |
One detail that ranking gift pages rarely mention: scale the print to the garment. A 28 cm design that looks right on an age-12 tee covers half the body of an age-3 tee. Ask for two or three print sizes across the size run, for example small, medium and large artwork for toddler, junior and teen sizes. Our custom printing page explains each method in more detail.
For caps, choose youth sizes with an adjustable strap or Velcro back and a modest front logo. Mesh-back trucker caps are cooler for outdoor assemblies. Embroidered fronts last longest. See our caps range for styles.
Respect the UAE flag in your design
National Day designs often use the flag, so get this right. The UAE Cabinet's flag guidelines list practices that aren't permitted. These include:
- Altering the flag: changing its colours, or adding symbols, designs, images or pins to it.
- Commercial use: using the flag for advertising or publicity, or as a trademark or part of one.
- Disposable items: printing the flag on things like napkins, boxes or pillows.
- Costumes: using the flag as a costume or decoration in ways that go against its intended use.
Under Federal Law No. 2 of 1971 (as amended), publicly dropping, damaging or insulting the flag carries a prison sentence and a fine of at least AED 500,000. A children's T-shirt will not be anywhere near that, but the guidelines still shape good design:
- Use the colours, not a modified flag. Stripes, shapes, a "55" or a family motif in red, green, white and black is the safest and often the most attractive route.
- Never put your school or company logo on top of the flag. Keep logos separate, for example a small logo on the sleeve or back neck.
- If you show the flag, show it correctly. Use the right proportions and colour order, undistorted and uncluttered. When the flag hangs horizontally, the red band sits on the left as you face it.
- Think about where the flag ends up. Avoid putting it on disposable giveaway packaging that will be thrown away the same afternoon.
- Check before using official logos. The official Eid Al Etihad visual identity may have its own usage terms. If in doubt, design your own artwork inspired by the theme.
Ordering for a whole school or nursery: sizes and quantities
Sizing causes most of the problems in kids' bulk orders. A simple process:
- Collect sizes by class. Send a short form via your parent app with the size options and a garment measurement chart. Ask for the half chest width in cm, not just the age label, because sizes vary between suppliers.
- Set a default for non-responders. Assign the age-label size for each year group, going one size up for children in the older half of the year. Children grow, and a slightly big tee still works.
- Order a spare margin. Add around 5–10% extra, spread across the middle sizes, for new joiners, mix-ups and accidents on the day.
- Include staff. Teachers and assistants in matching adult tees make the class photos. Collect their sizes at the same time.
- Ask for packing by class. Bags labelled "FS2 Blue – 22 pcs" save the office hours of sorting. Agree this when you order, not when the boxes arrive.
- Approve a digital mock-up for every print size, and check spelling in both English and Arabic if you use both.
Small settings are not a barrier. MISHAREN takes orders from 25 pieces, with the exact minimum depending on garment and branding method, so a single nursery class can order. It works with production partners in the UAE, India and China. For a November deadline, ready stock blanks branded locally are the realistic route, not custom-made garments.
Last-order timeline and checklist
These are planning targets for a celebration on Monday 30 November or Tuesday 1 December 2026, not guaranteed lead times. Actual timing depends on stock, quantity and branding method, so confirm dates at quotation stage.
| By | Action |
|---|---|
| Now to 12 November | Confirm budget, items and rough quantities. Brief the design, and send the size form to parents |
| 13–16 November | Approve artwork and print sizes, finalise the size breakdown and place the order |
| 17–23 November | Production: printing or embroidery on stock garments, then quality check |
| 24–26 November | Delivery to school, then sorting by class (or receive pre-packed by class) |
| 26–27 November | Send garments home with a note on when to wear them and how to wash them |
| 30 Nov – 1 Dec | Celebration day |
If you are reading this after mid-November, keep it simple. Use one design and one or two print colours on white or stock-colour tees, and skip personalisation.
Last-order checklist
- Celebration date confirmed against the school calendar and the official holiday notice
- Item list decided (tee, cap, bag) per age group
- Flag-compliant artwork, with no logo on the flag and correct colour order
- Two or three print sizes approved for small and large garments
- Size breakdown by class, including a 5–10% spare margin
- Staff sizes added
- No small parts or cords on items for under-3s
- Packing by class agreed
- Delivery address, receiving contact and access times shared with the supplier
- Washing note for parents ready
Companies buying for employees' children
With the 2026 celebration built around the Year of Family, many employers are hosting family days or sending gifts home to staff with children. Matching kids' tees that sit alongside the staff design work well here. The same sizing and flag rules apply, and you need children's sizes collected per employee. If you are also dressing the office, our guide to UAE National Day corporate gifts covers the adult side.
Request a quotation
If your school, nursery or company needs National Day tees, caps or gift packs for children this year, send MISHAREN your quantities, size breakdown, artwork and celebration date via the contact page. You'll get a quotation with realistic timing, and since MISHAREN isn't VAT-registered, no VAT is added to the price.
